I was still fairly new to embroidery in 2003. So even when I just put letters on something, I was quite excited by my work. Here you can see gifts I gave to my 2-yr-old friend, Lauren; to Annette (sis) for home decor (the pic shows fabric from her shower curtain that inspired the dragonfly); and Jamie (friend) for bridal shower I included a home-made funny do-not-disturb door hanger. Mom, for Mom's Day, got an embroidered and embellished shirt. 
The last close-up photo of an applique flip-flop shirt for Annette was done in 2004. Even then, I took hours and hours to decide on fabric textures and colors and thread colors, etc. I can be so perfectionistic when I want to be.
